Description: Delta levee centerlines. These are structural centerlines, not levee crown road centerlines, so in some cases there can be significant differences. The centerlines were constructed based on the centerlines of the levee crown polygons which were derived from the 2007-08 Delta LIDAR. The crown boundaries were determined using automatic detection of when a slope threshold had been exceeded, at which point the area was mapped as side slope instead of as a crown. The work was conducted under DWR Delta Levees Program contract with CSU Chico GIC. The final deliverable was accepted in 11/2011, and this version was formally included into the Delta levees geodatabase in 3/2012. The 8/2012 update includes segmentation and attribution along project/nonproject, waterways, and urban/nonurban levees. Some non-project levees that are delineated in the 1995 Delta Atlas but are not included in the 11/2011 deliverable have been added, as well as other in-channel and flooded islands including Little Franks Tract, Little Mandeville, Little Holland, Little Hastings, Mildred, and Widdows Islands. These levee centerlines were digitized using the 2009 NAIP Imagery (GIS Servers\arcgis on parcimage2\ImageServices\naip_2009_4band.ImageServer). (Updated by Karen Tolentino, DWR FESSRO, 08/03/2012)Supplemental levee centerlines from the California Levee Database have been added. Little Franks Tract and Mildred Island have been deleted. (Updated by Karen Tolentino, DWR FESSRO, 08/06/2012)A portion of the levee centerline on Pico-Naglee has been altered to better fit the levee stations file, and the Detla LiDAR. This updated portion begins slightly northeast of the 447+00 station, and runs to the southern end of a portion of the Old River on the western side of Pico-Naglee Tract. The centerline is first snapped to the 447+00, 447+50, and 448+00 stations, and then is digitized off the hillshade view of the Delta LiDAR at a scale of 1:1,000. (Updated by Jeff Galef, DWR FESSRO, 09/19/2012).The dryland levee on the soutern portion of West Sacramento was traced off of the CLD on 09/20/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO. Also, the centerline for Bishop Tract, North Series, was digitized off the Delta LiDAR from Station 200+00 to Station 274+28 at a scale of 1:600.The centerline on RD 17 was continued from the point 90 ft southwest of Station 930+00 to Station 980+00. The digitizing was based on the Delta LiDAR at a scale of 1:1,000. The centerline on Simmons-Wheeler was added from the point 143 ft northeast of Station 295+00 to the point 155 ft southwest of Station 335+00. The centerline on Smith Tract was elongated from Station 310+00 back to Station 0+00. Since there was no apparent levee in the aerial photography nor the Delta LiDAR, the centerline was created by linking the stations. The updating was performed on 09/24/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline on Yolano was extended past Station 170+00 to close on itself around Station 0.5. The line was traced off of a DWG file sent by the Yolano District. This was performed on 10/15/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline on Mildred Island was developed off of the Bing Aerial Imagery at a scale of 1;2,000. Since the levees are dilapidated, with some completely underwater, the centerlines were estimated in parts. Since there was no clear crown, the centerline was forced through the District-provided stations. This was performed on 10/16/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline on Smith Tract (Lincon Village) was altered to follow a DWG file provided by the District from the point 35 feet upstation of Station 180+00, to the end at Station 191+00. The line was traced. This was performed on 10/19/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline on Smith Tract (Lincon Village) was altered to follow a DWG file provided by the District from the point 331 feet upstation of Station 0+00, to the point 83 feet upstation from Station 20+00. The line was traced and digitized at a scale of 1:800. This was performed on 10/22/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline of Peters Pocket was extended from the point 125 feet downstation of Mile 0 northward to the point 963 feet upstation of Mile 6. The line was digitized off of the CLD. This was performed on 10/24/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline of the Z2 series of levee on Walthall was traced off of the CLD on 10/24/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline of the River Junction levee on was traced off of the CLD starting 384 feet downstation of Station U2 5-mile, and extended out 390 feet past Station U2 6.06 on 10/24/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline of the Kasson District levee, U2, on was traced off of the CLD starting at Station U2 0-mile, and extended out to the end at Station U2 0.69 on 10/24/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline of the Walthall levee was traced off of the CLD starting 78 feet upstation of Station Z1, 2.82-mile, and extended out about 11,335 feet to the end, on 10/24/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline of the Smith Tract levee was traced off of the LiDAR DEM starting 372 feet upstation of Station 140+00, and extended out about 178 downstation of Station 140+00, on 10/24/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The centerline on Smith Tract was changed to follow the centerline provided by the RD engineers from Stations 180+85 to 225+55, on 11/20/2012 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The dryland levee on Cache Haas was extended upstation from its old origin back to meet up with the centerline down the regular portion of the Cache Haas centerline. It was digitized at a scale of 1:161 by Jeff Galef of DWR FESSRO.The levees along the former Pixley Slough, and the levee to the northwest along the southeast side of Bishop Tract, were removed since they are no longer there. Urban development, as evidenced by the Bing Imagery, has replaced these levees. This was done by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 12/11/12. The levee segment that extends around the south and east of Discovery Bay was split into two portions, with the southern and lower east portion's reach attribute identified as "dryland," and the upper east portion identified as "Discovery Bay." This was done by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 1/15/12.The levee segment in the northeast corner area of Boggs Tract, near the round tanks, was split into two segments to reflect that one runs along the San Joaquin River, while the other is "dryland." This was done by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 1/16/12. The levee segment adjacent to Cache Haas on the western side was split into two segments to show that one segment runs along an "ag ditch," while the other runs along a spur of Haas Slough. This was done by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 1/16/12. The levee segment running along both a spur coming off the Roaring River Slough, and somewhat "dryland", was split into two. This was done by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 1/16/12. The cross-levee segment in West Sacramento to the west of Lake Greenhaven, was split into "dryland" and "ag ditch" segments. This was done by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 1/16/12. **The above changes have been stored to the feature class, levees_delta_centerlines_2013_02_13 by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/13/2013. The following changes were completed for this version:The levees in Yolano along the east and west borders were changed to "Project" levees. The previous and incorrect "Non-Project" labeling was due to an error in the map in the Delta Atlas. This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/13/2013.The spur of dryland levee on the Kasson District was relabled from "Non-Project" to "Unattributed." This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/13/2013.The gap in the levee under I-5 to the east of Atlas Tract was filled in by connecting the two end points. The gap between Atlas Tract and the area mentioned to the east also had its endpoints connected. The gap in the curve in Bishop Tract to the north of the other filled gaps was filled by connecting the endpoints. This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/13/2013.The gap in the bottom northeast corner of Shima Tract was filled in by connecting the two end points. This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/14/2013.The levee segment that covered the northern end of Yolano was split at the location of the bend where the diagonal headed southwest. The east-west levee was left as "unattributed" but the diagonal portion was reclassified as "Project." The Reach name was reclassified as "ag ditch" from "dryland." The remaining part of the diagonal was changed from "Non-Project" to "Project." This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/14/2013.The levees surrounding Delta Coves on Bethel Island were added. They were digitized using Bing Imagery at a resolution of 1:500. The levee at the mouth of the cove was removed. This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/14/2013.To avoid confusion, another field was added called "AB360_Levee_Type." This was done because outside of the Delta Levees program, others designate as only "Project" and "Non-Project," and thus, do not include "Unattributed." The values from "Levee_Type" were copied over to the new field. And, all instances of "Unatrributed" in "Levee_Type" were replaced with "Non-Project." This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/19/2013.The levee type on the levee going around the western tip of Grand Island was corrected so that the "Project" status was only applied to the portion running North-South that cuts the route short. The northern segment spanned past the North-South bisector, and was thus split. The portion in the rounded tip was changed to "Non-Project" for the "Levee_Type" field, and "Unattributed" for the "AB360_Levee_Type" field. This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/19/2013.The ending levee segement on Simmons-Wheeler, starting around Station 355+00, turned out to actually be part of the Grizzly Bay Duck Club Property. Its LMA value was changed to NULL. This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/19/2013.For the portions of levee on Van Sickle Island within the Legal Delta, the AB360_levee_type was changed to "Unattributed." This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/19/2013.The Delta Coves levee's AB360_levee_type was changed to "Unattributed." This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/19/2013.The northern E-W levee on Atlas Tract was split where it turns to the south. The tiny connector levee segment between the N-S and E-W project levees was changed to "Project." The three segments across Bear Creek were also changed to "Project." This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/19/2013.The tiny gap in the diagonal levee on Yolano was reclassified as "Project." This was performed by by Jeff Galef of FESSRO on 2/19/2013.The 9/24/2013 update reflects version prior to change in Mellin levee attribution as Project levee from Non-Project levee. Change by Joel Dudas confirmed by legal staff after considerable discussion and debate on this levee's status, but confident it is correct classification as "Project" and not "non-project".
